When our engineers and technicians are working on a repair in the field on any form of industrial electronic equipment there is a general rule we follow. Whenever possible fix only one problem and one section at a time.
If you are working on a large retrofit job and have questions contact Bill Kegley, Craig Gaulden or Terrence Harris to help guide you. All three of these men have extensive experience in the field in industrial electronic retrofit jobs.
When troubleshooting an Industrial system and you find a bad AC drive or DC drive, check the output section for shorts or opens. If your output section has been damaged make sure to use a megger on your motor to make sure the motor did not short causing the drive to go bad.
Specialized Electronic Services recently did a large retrofit job removing some obsolete Square D Omegapak AC Drives and replaced them with some Square D Altivar ATV61 series AC drives.
