The Vision System consists of a Cognex image processing circuit board with video cameras and a video monitor. Most systems accept video from two NTSC cameras through the Cognex board. A third NTSC connector can accept an input from and OCR (optical character recognition) camera in the wafer handler; see Section 13.14. The Cognex supplies NTSC output to a standard video monitor. Although the Cognex receives power from the VME backplane, it communicates with the host computer through an RS-232C serial port.
